i was looking at jenny's (southern savers) target post.
there is a link to the kmart website where you can print coupons.
jenny had mentioned this 75¢/1 manufacturers coupon.
target price $1.29.
but i checked on the harris teeter price, it's $1.79 for the box of 200.
so with a doubled coupon, final price 29¢!
this coupon does say "redeemable at kmart" and kmart.com, but they are very small. i wouldn't think you would have a problem with it though.

a reminder about the oak leaf wine at walmart

if you need some wine for your christmas dinner or a gift, let me remind you about the walmart wine.
the brand is "oak leaf" and walmart has several varieties.
every one we have tried is quite tasty and my research tells me that they get good reviews from folks who really know wine.

the wines are amazingly priced at $2.97.
my favorite is the shiraz and my DH likes the cabernet sauvignon.
as for the whites, the zinfandel and pinot grigio are excellent.

I think I am a red wine drinker. It was good because Mick really liked it, but I was dreaming of the cabernet the whole time which Mick doesn't really like. So, I might try a chardonnay next time and let you know. It is all for research so we can give the people the best information!

harris teeter buy one get one free items

i recently had an "ah-ha" moment in regards to harris teeter's buy one get one free coupon policy. as we all know, the policy states, "one coupon per buy one get one free item". i used to make way too many trips to buy one (at half price) and use my one coupon at a time.
but then i had a revelation... to buy 3 items, and use 2 coupons.
i'm sure i am saving just as much considering the amount of gas and time i was wasting the other way. and i'm still getting a good deal.
now i do this for practical things that i really need, like last week's nature's bread and skippy peanut butter.
for stuff that i really don't need stock of, like cookies and ice cream, i will continue to just buy one and use one coupon.

(tip: create a new email just for this. a free gmail or yahoo account works nicely)
they may have coupons right on the site or every now and then they may send you links to print coupons.

head over to the mueller's site to sign up for a free calendar/planner (by mail) and coupons.
*i tried several times to register for this and it kept telling me my birthday was invalid!
so...when you register, just don't fill in your birthday and it will work fine.

target trip 11/15 price matching

today i learned about price matching.
i was going to get some kraft marshmallows using the $1/2 target printable and a price match from walmart that would make them $1 each. the normal target price is $1.19.
i went to check out and the cashier told me that price matches have to be done at customer service, but that she could check me out, then i could get the difference refunded.
so, i paid $1.19 x 2 = $2.38 - $1 = $1.38 for 2 or 69¢ each.
then, i go to customer service to get my 38¢ price match refund and the girl is totally confused. when she rings it up to do the price match, it tells her i owe her money.
because of the crazy way the target coupons adjust the price on the receipt, it looks to her like i paid 69¢ each and the walmart price of $1 would increase the price. i laughed and told her not to worry about it, i would just go to customer service first next time.
so...

took a trip to harris teeter in davidson this morning.
here's some valuable info for you!

pepsi 12 packs bogof at davidson ($3)
pepsi 4/$10 in mooresville ($2.50)

today, harris teeter had the del monte gold fresh pineapple.
75¢/1 coupons for these come out now and then.
in the past, the fresh pineapples were dole brand.

finally, keep your eyes peeled for coupons and special offers with the holidays coming.
i found "$1.25/any 3" coupons for jello/baker's chocolate/cream cheese (near the gladware display close to the wine), and lots of wine tags with coupons for nuts, cheese, shrimp, beef, and turkey. most say "no wine purchase necessary"!
