for the past few months, i have been struggling with some pre-menopausal acne.
ugh.
my wonderful husband calls me his teenager.
still, not fun.
so i found this website, acne.org, and they recommended this face wash and some other over-the-counter products too.
my teens and i are trying it.
i love this face wash.
it cleans without drying.
smells like a baby.
and it's cheap!
best prices at walmart and target... less that $5.
and my face is clear :)

i have the BEST neighbors in the world.

a few months back, they visited family in louisiana.
they brought me the most awesome, basic, good-on-everything seasoning called, "slap ya mama".
it is a combination of salt, black pepper, red pepper, and garlic.
no extra junk.
perfect for A LOT of things i cook!
so, when i started to run low on this magic, i asked neighbor don, "can you get me some more?????"
unfortunately, it comes from louisiana :( may be a while.
then...
because God loves me so much...
it came to pass that i ran into my sister- and brother-in-law at the local walmart.

WHAT!!!!
there is was, in my own backyard!

my new love

my family loves loves loves hidden valley ranch salad dressing.
on salad, on chicken nuggets, on potatoes, my daughter even eats it on pizza.
but it is expensive!
i've tried to make home-made.
i've tried other brands.
there is just no substitute.

but then i remembered....
my first experience with the "packet" of ranch dressing.
(that's how it started you know)
i must have been 12 years old.
dipping celery sticks.
i ate so much i got sick!
but i still love it.

my point is, the packs are much cheaper.

and it's easy to find sale mayo and milk is a staple.
so simple to mix up, your 3 and 5-year-olds can do it :)

"the wedge"

this is a fun, inexpensive, easy salad i make occasionally.
simply take a washed head of iceburg lettuce, core it and cut into 4 or 5 wedges.
top with salad dressing of your choice, we like ranch or blue cheese.
then "sprinkle" with small diced tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, green onions, and bacon.
you can top with what ever you have in the fridge!
my daughter put olives on her's.
add some freshly ground black pepper for the grand finale :)

operation christmas child

for the past few years, i have been the contact person at our church for operation christmas child.
i collect boxes from people at our church and then deliver them to a local drop-off spot.
i must confess, i love to look in the boxes to see what is being sent.
