gagliardo's grill express

427 East Statesville Ave
Suite 100
Mooresville, NC 28115
704-662-0707

DH and i had an impromptu valentine's date to the new gagliardo's grill express last night for dinner. DS went to the basketball game and DD got a last minute babysitting offer for her favorite 2 year old.
so, we decided to finally go to gagliardo's.
we have missed it!
we used to love that place when it was open a couple years ago.
we are thrilled that troy and his wife tracy have re-opened the restaurant.
reasons we LOVE gagliardo's:
-it's like 3 minutes from our house. located close to the old hospital.
-we saw so many folks we know, it really is a neighborhood grill.
-the food is amazing and since the food is grilled, there are lots of healthy options, if you choose that route :)
-the remodeled restaurant has the grill right there at the counter where you order. cozy. especially with the snow on friday night.
-with the new set up, the service was super fast. the way they do it now, you walk up to the counter, order your meal and pay, and then sit down and they bring the food to you.
-excellent tea, free refills!
-it's so wonderful to see a family working together.
troy and his bride tracy (i think they were high school sweethearts <3 ) were there with their two daughters.
-they do takeout too.

update on preston loyd

many of you may remember urgent prayer requests for preston loyd, the 4-year-old who was critcally injured in a lawnmower accident in april 2009.
here's an update from his dad, ashton:

Monday, January 25, 2010 7:17 AM, EST

James 1: 2-3
Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.

I think if we had a choice, we would prefer our faith not be tested. We would much rather say, “Okay God, I am living a pretty good life. I go to church when the doors open. I try to be a good example to those around me. I just try to live my life and do what’s right.” He allows temptations that we must resist. He also allows trials in our way. These we must overcome through the grace of God. The overcoming of these trials produces this perseverance spoken of by James in his opening chapter. Another interesting item: We have so much more perseverance and strength than we can ever realize. Think of the tragedies we read about every day. With each of those tragedies, there is a suffering family. We, as humans, are built to adapt and overcome…God made us that way.

Now, the trial our family has endured is maybe a bit more exaggerated than some. There are more pieces to work through, but the navigating has produced perseverance. Every time I watch Preston, I see his perseverance and it inspires me. When I am down, all I need to do is spend a moment with him to see the true meaning of perseverance. He is such a light.

Many of you have reached out for an update. I have many good intentions of setting a regular time to post, but between home and job, it is difficult. Thanks to each of you for continuing in prayer, because even though the frequency of updates has lessened, our need for prayer has not. We are not at the end of our journey of perfect healing.

Preston continues to make improvements in all areas. Physically, he is miraculous. He runs around and plays like a normal 5 year old. All of his injuries are healing well ahead of any prognosis. Also, his vision continues a slow improvement. I was thinking the other evening as he played alone in his playroom that life and home are slowly but surely returning to normal.

I would ask that you continue in prayer for Preston. We only have one surgery left in the spring. Pray that God will prepare Preston’s body and the surgeon’s hands.

I do thank all of you for your continued support of prayer and outreach. I welcome the calls and emails.

In closing, I want to encourage each of you to persevere through whatever trials you may be facing. We don’t always see how God is working, but He is. Trust in Him and you will persevere.

In His Arms and persevering,
Ashton

so, did you get the $10 off/$50 coupon from lowes foods in the mail?
I WOULD LIKE TO REMIND YOU THAT THESE COUPONS CAN BE USED AT HARRIS TEETER!

i went to lowes to check out a few things.
first, if you have the old lowes reward card, you have to upgrade to the lowes "fresh rewards" card. you can do that in the store at the front, or online.
they have a lot of complicated programs in place, i really don't know if it's worth all the work!

they have instasave. these are offers you see online and load to your card. at the bottom of the page, it states that these cannot be combined with paper coupons.

next, they have fresh rewards.
this is where you earn cash back on future orders for buying certain things.

also, in the store they have a flyer that has some "3 week coupons".
apparently they scan those and you get a special price. i picked one up. nothing too great.

they DO double coupons everyday.
they DO have an online shopping service, so you can check prices.

they have a pretty strict coupon policy.

Coupon Policy

We recognize that our customers are looking for more ways to save their hard-earned dollars and using coupons is one of the best ways to save additional money. To allow all of our customers to enjoy these additional savings, our prevailing guideline is that Lowes Foods reserves the right to limit quantities in coupon usage and product purchases.

Manufacturer Coupon Policy

Lowes Foods welcomes legitimate manufacturer coupons when the following requirements are met:

• Coupons must be in date.
• Coupons must match the item(s) purchased.
• Coupons must be presented at the time of purchase.
• To ensure product availability for all customers, we limit redemption to 4 coupons for 4 of the same item. For example, if you have five coupons for a specific cereal and have purchased five of the item, we will honor the coupon for up to four of the boxes of cereal.
• All sales taxes are paid by the customer at the full retail value of the item.
• Coupon value cannot exceed our retail price of the item; no cash back will be awarded.

Double Coupons

• We will double up to 20 manufacturer coupons with a face value of $0.99 or less every day.
• No minimum purchase is required.
• Manufacturer coupons for FREE items or Buy One, Get One FREE items will not be doubled.
• Any manufacturer coupon that states -Do not double- will not be doubled.
• A doubled coupon will not be honored if the doubled amount exceeds the retail or sale price of the coupon item. No cash back will be awarded.

Other Coupon Promotions

• From time to time, our manufacturer coupon promotions will be enhanced. For example, we may offer our customers the opportunity to triple their coupons. Special promotional opportunities will be featured in our circular or on-line.

Internet Coupons

We gladly accept legitimate internet coupons. However, there has been a growing number of fraudulent internet coupons in the marketplace. We are committed to protecting our customers, manufacturers and our company against this illegal activity. Therefore, Lowes Foods will practice the following guidelines for internet coupons:
• We will only accept printable internet coupons if they scan at checkout.
• We will not honor FREE Product coupons printed from the Internet.
• We will accept Buy One Get One FREE and other values that have a purchase requirement.
• We will accept internet coupons that have an expiration date. If no expiration date is visible, we cannot accept the coupon.
• Coupons will be rejected if they are distorted, altered or obvious duplicates. Coupons are non-transferrable, meaning they should not be photocopied or scanned and distributed to others.
• Coupons have unique serial numbers printed on them and follow industry-standard format. Any presented coupon that does not follow standard format will not be accepted.
• Internet coupon limits are the same as manufacturer and store coupons.

Store Coupons

• In order to redeem store coupons, a Lowes Foods rewards card must be used.
• Store coupons must be in date.
• All limits and purchase requirements must be followed.

Competitor’s Coupons

• We gladly accept local supermarket or supercenter competitor’s circular or direct mail coupons for dollars off the entire order. (examples include Food Lion, Harris Teeter, Bi-Lo, Kroger, Super Target, Super K-Mart, Wal-mart)
• We will not accept any competitor coupons for specific items. For example, we will not accept a competitor’s coupon for $1.00 off of an individual item.
• Purchase requirements must be met.
• Coupon must be in-date.
• We will not accept any type of internet coupons from any other retailers.
• We will not accept any type of competitor coupons from drug stores or club stores.
• We will accept Catalina Check-out Manufacturer coupons from competitors as long as they are in date, all purchase requirements are met, and they scan.

so, bottom line, i will be watching for great deals with the grand opening, but i don't know if i'm willing to give up my harris teeter dollars!

food lion betty crocker fruit snacks sale and catalina

for all my little friends...

post from la la at hot coupon world:
This is a good week to buy the BC fruit snacks/roll ups since they are BOGO and there is a CAT deal.
Math: 5 @ $1.40 each
-$2 $1/2 coupon from the Box Tops for Education website
-$.40 $.40/1 from coupons.com
=$4.60,
and you get a $3.50 CAT back.
So $1.10 for 5 boxes of fruit snacks!
Great deal!
There are a bunch of IP's out for these so the math will vary.
I plan on doing the above scenario once, and then do another one with the other coupons from coupons.com.

use the coupon database to find the coupons.
there are also some 50¢/1 in the 1/3 SS. (the one with the yoplait yogurt on the front)

like the $2/2 nabisco cracker product.
i will be taking that one to HT this week to buy cheese nips, on sale for $1.50.
