we had to go to food lion to get milk.
it was 2.69, but i got the 25¢ back with the register printout.
it worked this time!

>also, kraft mac and cheese was 2/1$
i used a b3g1free coupon (if you are using firefox, change the "vi" to a "vg" in the web address) and the cashier credited me $1.19 which is the REGULAR price of mac and cheese!
so 4 boxes for 81¢!

>got the food lion peanut butter, on sale for 1.89

target preview ad for 6/7

from neekyme at saavy dollar!
here's the ad.
nothing too exciting...

unexpected excellent trip to target

DD had to be at church 2 hours early for her first concert of the season, it was close to target, so i decided just to go look around and see what i could find.

i was happy when i saw strawberries were on sale for $1.88. a great price, but when combined with the 1$/1 strawberry target printable, extraordinary!
good thing i was prepared with my coupons.
88¢ each

since i was getting the strawberries, i decided to pick up another box of the hefty fresh extend bags. still on sale for $1.87.
-1.00 manufacturer coupon (blinkie or 5/17 ss)
-1.00 target printable
13¢ overage!

then i got 2 more free degree deodorants
see post here.
16¢ overage x 2 = 32¢ overage!

next... aquafresh toothpaste
reg price 1.97
-1.00 target printable exp 6/6
-1.00 manufacturer printable (try aquafresh.com)
i made 3¢!

then i got 2 boxes of morningstar chick'un for $1.00 each [coupon (try here) + target printable 2$/2]

total OOP for the trip $3.64 and NO coupon beeps :)

other items of interest:
family pack chicken pieces (with bones) 3.99
glade oil candles 1.87. rumor has it that there may be 1.50 coupons inside!
*update* there ARE coupons inside some of the candles. hurry!
(and don't be surprised if you get this for your birthday :)

for those of you with babies...

this looks like a good deal to me. see what you think.
amazon is running a "save up to 30%" on pampers diapers. they are having a 15% off deal until june 15. combine this with the "subscribe and save" program they have for up to 30% off!
i have used the subscribe and save program on a few things. i just opt for the every 6 months choice and then cancel if i don't want the item any more. no strings! on the other hand, you can always get them to send your next order early if you need it sooner than 6 months.
or the better deal may be to go for the pampers mega pack of size 3 204 diapers (not eligible for subscribe and save) and take the 15% off, that makes it 38.24 for 204 diapers or 18.7¢ per diaper. no tax and no shipping charges! check it out here.
they are also offering discounts on Luvs! they are only 15¢ per diaper for size 3 (204 diapers).

a great idea from jen at hot coupon world

jen suggests that we take a few minutes to thank harris teeter for doing triples. she adds that as long as they do it, other stores will too! you can go here for the form.

free windex saves the day!

you know all that free windex we get at harris teeter?
well, mine came in quite handy today.
DS was in the school gym, standing up against the wall, AND leaning right on a piece of chewed gum. nasty. gum was ground into his baseball hoodie. again, nasty.
i tried the "freezer" method, trying to chip it off.
no luck.
so i turn to my trusty friend, google. ( those of you who know me, know that i will google anything that pops into my head!)
what i learned, and it REALLY WORKED, is that windex and a toothbrush will take that gum right out of the hoodie. it makes it kind of bead up and release from the fabric.
so put that into your bank of knowledge :)

harris teeter triples final totals

i couldn't help it.
i just had to add it all up.
for the week, i spent $48.34 and got $261.25 worth of groceries!
that's an 81% savings!
how did you do?

target money maker deodorant

i mentioned that there may be some free deodorant at target.
better, it's a money maker!
the degree deodorant is located on the top shelf in the deodorant isle and is priced at $2.34.
so -$1.50 target printable, -$1.00 coupon from the 5/17 RP= 16¢ moneymaker!
see original post here.

the dry idea roll-on is $2.49 fyi.

also, if you were considering doing the tombstone pizza deal (details here), target has a good price of $3.54. this is cheaper than food lion's sale price of 2/8$. using the 1$/2 printable coupons, not bad for the "i'm-starving-feed-me" lunches we have after church.

flip video camera cheap at amazon

all over the blogs...
flip video camera from amazon for $49.99.
(free shipping, too)
saw these at target for $179!

harris teeter sneak peek 6/3-6/9

problem with the food lion brand sale....

went to food lion tonight to get some cheap hot dog buns and chips using my food lion internet printables, and earn some money back for my next trip. details of this deal here.
used the scan kiosk to try my luck there.
got a 60¢ off of food lion shredded cheese. it was on sale for $1.79! got that.
went to check out, expecting my coupon for $1.25 off my next order (yes, there are reports of 25¢ for each food lion item purchased). no luck. talked to the manager, she said she can't do anything at the store level, call corporate. UGH!
to be continued....

possible free/cheap deodorant at target

thanks to cha ching queen for heads up on these deals.

>men's degree deodorant $2.49

triples deals for today's coupons

here's a forum from hot coupon world discussing new harris teeter triples deals with today's coupons.

have you signed up for these coupon books?

it's always so fun to open up your mailbox and find money (i mean coupons!).
here's a list ginger (attention coupon clippers) put together of places to join.
i also like vocal point which is a marketing company that will send you coupons for free items and extra coupons for your friends! so far i have gotten kashi waffles and frosted mini wheats.

target 5/31-6/6 chicken and chik'un

do you have enough chicken in your freezer?
how about chik'un?
deals at target today...

>whole chicken on sale for $3.49
-1.00 manufacturer coupon
-1.00 target printable
how about 1.59¢ for a 3.5 lb chicken?!

>20 0z pack of boneless skinless chicken on sale for 3.99
-1.00 target printable
2.99 or 2.39/lb

>morningstar farm veggie items (burgers, chicken strips, chicken nuggets, etc) on sale for 3$
sign up for the morningstar farms insider and they MAY send you a coupon (print twice by using your back button) for either 1$/1 or $1.50/1 coupon.
combine this with the target printable which is 2$/2 for a good deal on "chik'un".
my favorites are the veggie sausage patties, spicy black bean burgers, mini corn dogs, and chik'un patties.
you can also try this link for the morningstar coupon.

>another deal that i have been doing is with the target printable that states,
"1$ off with purchase of both produce item and 20 ct hefty fresh extend bags".
these bags are supposed to be for produce, but the only difference i can see is they are green. they are "one zip" bags, so you can stack the target coupon with the 1$/1 hefty one zip bag from the 5/17 SS. there are also blinkies for 1$/1 that i found at food lion.
these are on sale for $1.87 at our store.
so...
$1.87 for bags and pick up a produce item (how about strawberries and use the 1$ off target printable?)
-$1.00 manufacturer's coupon
-$1.00 target coupon
good deal!

this is definately worth watching (or watching again!).
dave ramsey's town hall for hope, a webcast that we went to at church a few weeks ago, is now on hulu.
go here.
dave is funny and extremely relevant and wise.
seriously better than anything that is on tv tonight, i'm sure.
so, put the kids to bed and settle in for a realistic evaluation for our country's "situation" and reassurance that we ARE gonna be okay :)

HOME made simple

do you have this coupon book yet?
if not, go here to "saving with shellie" to get yours.
lots of good cleaning product coupons, in fact i got some free dawn dish liquid this morning with one of the coupons!

buying coupons on ebay

i sometimes "buy" coupons on ebay for things i know that my family likes and that i buy a lot of. also, if you know you can get an item for free or cheap (especially with triples!) it may be worth investing a dollar or two.

here are the rules i have set for myself when buying coupons:

• don't pay more than 2$
• look for sellers that offer free or cheap shipping
• make sure to check the expiration date of the coupon so you will have time to use it
• use sellers that have 100% positive feedback (or VERY close)
• think about location, you can get coupons super fast if they live within NC or our bordering states

food lion private brand super sale 5/27-6/23

food lion started a new promotion today.
you can get money back (on your next order) by buying food lion products.
the rules:

• Use your Personal MVP Card.
• Purchase a minimum of 4 (maximum of 40) Food Lion Brand Products in one shopping visit. (All Food Lion Brand items are eligible except fresh meat, produce and random weight Deli/Bakery items.)
• Receive up to $10 in Food Lion Coupons at checkout. Coupons are redeemable on your next shopping order. (Coupons expire 2 weeks from date of issuance.)

so, this is like 25¢ on each product!
what's cheap that we can buy?
looking at the sale ad today, i see canned vegetables (69¢), cat food (43¢), yogurt (42¢), and buns (99¢).
for the buns, check your food lion shoppers companion email from last week. there was a printable for 1$/ (2) packs of hamburger or hot dog buns.
so 99¢ x2 = 1.98-1$ coupon-25¢ (x2)= 50¢ for two packs of buns!
of course you have to buy 2 other things to reach your minimum of 4 items for the 1$ oyno coupon.
there was also a chip coupon (2$/2) last week and those are on sale this week for 2$ each.
i'm hoping that includes the tortilla chips!

if you don't have the email from last week, go here for the food lion printables from jenny at southern savers.

don't forget to scan your food lion mvp card at the scanner kiosk near the door. maybe you will get some good food lion brand coupons there too.

how fun is this? harris teeter triples 5/27 $1.15!

i'm practically giddy. i got all this stuff at the davidson harris teeter for $1.15!

hefty cups
dial hand soap
glass plus
velveeta mac and cheese cup
kraft ranch dressing
lipton tea bags
yakisoba ramen noodles
mccormick oregano
mccormick black pepper
uncle ben's rice

skintimate shave gel
suave shampoo
suave conditioner
eggo waffles
rhodes dinner rolls
3 alexia garlic bread

total $48.43
total OOP $1.15
saved $47.28 :)

tips:
-skintimate has two sizes. both are 2$. look for the larger one.
-they had no "grandes" tortilla chips when i was there this morning.
so have some back up coupons ready to meet your 20 a day if need be.
-swing by the cheese area. tearpad coupons for 50¢ off kraft 2% cheese. save for a sale, unless you need now.

sunday shopping part 2 *harris teeter*

finishing up at the mooresville harris teeter.....

*warning!* the managers at the mooresville store are not quite as laid back as the ones at the davidson harris teeter.
case in point:
i tried to do my bogof coupon with a bogof sale.
at the davidson harris teeter, they credited my bill with a full price item. so i ended up with 2 free!
at the mooresville store, she tried to tell me i had to buy 4 in order to get 1 free. i was so bold. i told her "just take it off my bill and i will use my coupon in davidson". can you believe i said that???? so in the end, she took 1/2 of the item price off. better than nothing, but now i will know to save those for davidson :)

they have no 99¢ wholly guacamole in the mooreville store.

i did find out that the lipton tea will still be on sale for triples, so i saved that coupon.

got some free wishbone salad dressing, barilla pasta, 4¢ lipton noodles and sauce, and 14¢ ragu.

they had some beautiful south carolina blueberries for $2.50.

lever soap 6 bars on clearance for 3.94
-manufacturers coupon for 1.50
2.44 for 6 bars of soap

i was hoping they would be sold out of some stuff so i could get some rainchecks to use during triples, but they were pretty well stocked. but i think i'll go to davidson wednesday morning.

sunday shopping part 1 *target*

hey, we had to keep ourselves occupied while DD was at choir practice :)

If you see a lower price listed in one of our Target Weekly Ads, we may be able to adjust the price of your online order to match the advertised price. Please note: You must have purchased the item within 1-7 days prior to the ad and you must contact us during the Weekly Ad where the lower price is featured. Also, we cannot adjust for a lower price on clearance items.

this is from the target.com help center. other research i have done says they will honor any purchase made in the last 14 days. but you have to go to the store while the item is on sale.

so, if you happened to buy a really cute shirt for a birthday present last week and had to pay full price, you can get a little money back this week (if you saved your receipt!).

lots of time to get ready...for TRIPLES!!!! 5/27-6/2

well, the girls at hot coupon world are at it again, and they are AWESOME!
here is the list they have started as to what you can get cheap or free at harris teeter during the week of 5/27-6/2 when harris teeter will again triple coupons.
start planning now :)

my favorite target deal this week

target has these printable coupons for hefty extend bags 1$ off when you buy the bags and a produce item. the bags are on sale for $1.87. use the target coupon and piggy back it with the manufacturer's coupon for 1$/1 hefty easy zip bags from the 5/17 RP.
buy some bananas or a pound of apples (don't forget that target printable 1$/1 lb) or whatever produce item you need.

i got 1 package of gallon size bags and 2.08 lbs of bananas for $1.08!

the market pantry oj is $1.99. use the 50¢ target printable for some cheap oj.

i broke down and used my 1$/1 printable kraft cheese coupons and stacked them with the 1$/2 target printable. they weren't on sale, but target's price is $1.99, much better than harris teeter's 2.99!
so i got kraft cheese for 50¢ a bag.

i looked at the bertolli frozen dinner gift card deal. even though it would have been relatively cheap, the packages i looked at had well over 500 calories a serving! and LOTS of fat. so i left my coupons in the freezer beside them :)

if you want...free hot dogs from oscar mayer

click here to get a coupon for free oscar mayer hot dogs (by mail).
thanks clipper girl!

kraft 1$/1 cheese coupon HURRY!

got a tip from clipper girl, and found a post from a full cup, go here to print this 1$/1 kraft cheese coupon.
hurry!

harris teeter sneak peek 5/20-5/26

here's the ad for tomorrow!

after about 3pm, harris teeter will make the "sale" changes to their express lane. i like to scour this as well to find unadvertised deals.
morrison plantation harris teeter here.
davidson harris teeter here.

the store layouts are a little different, and inventory is a little different. prices on like items are the same as far as i can tell. the davidson harris teeter stays better stocked, especially on high demand items during sales.

tombstone pizza will help you pay your utility bill

here's a post from deal seeking mom about tombstone pizza.
i looked them up. no weird ingredients.
reg price $5.99 at harris teeter.
go print some coupons and i bet a sale will come along soon.
(this is a kraft product. i was able to print some from the food lion website and some from kraft.com)
the deal is:
buy 7 save 5$
buy 12 save 10$
buy 17 save 15$

and you have until 1/15/2010 to save up!

nature's own buns on sale for $1.50

earthbound farm organic carrots 88¢
coupon for 55¢ that i picked up at harris teeter last month
final price 33¢

la banderita tortillas $1.92
we love these and walmart has the lowest price.

i'm finding that our walmart must be higher priced than a lot of others.
i hardly ever find great deals there.
oh well. maybe i'll go to target later....

lucky us.... i guess, i need to read the label first :)
if you can get access to 2 computers and print 3 $1.50/1 coupons, that would be $2.83 a pack! maybe a good after church lunch?

i did some research and found a little trick that i think has helped my computer.
go to control panel. (should be attached to the start menu)
open the java.
click the "advanced" tab.
under "miscellaneous" (double-click to get more options), uncheck the "java quick starter".

hope that helps!

there was an endcap that had tubes of colgate with free toothbrush on clearance for $1.68. there are lots of coupons in the hotcouponworld coupon database for colgate. good deal.
can't remember exactly what kind of colgate it was....

an unexpected deal, was the coupon for "Produce item AND Hefty Fresh Extend bags, 20-ct - $1/2". (to clarify, the 1$ off 2 means 1 package of bags and 1 produce item) this is a target printable. these bags (they are the hefty one-zip gallon size bags) on sale for $1.87. the regular price is over 3$. use the target printable and the 55¢ manufacturers coupon from the 3-29 RP.
the produce i bought was some pink lady apples, almost free with the target printable 1$ off 1 lb apples!

the kraft cheese is $1.99 per pack of shredded cheese.
use the printable $1/2
the target printable $1/2
makes it 1$ per package.
*be careful and watch. the register rang it up $2.09. my daughter would not let me go back in though. she said, "mom, i will give you the 20¢!" :)

the pace salsa, not on sale anymore.
the kraft dressing, not on sale.

a few varieties of chicken still on sale.
that's good because i need it to go with all that free bbq sauce i got at harris teeter!

fyi (erin), the sale dates for the kashi go lean waffles are listed as until 6/15, which is kind of a weird date, but they are regular $1.99, good deal anyway with the $1.50 coupon.
